Dr, Boettner’s reputation for excellence is very apparent. From the first appointment to the last one that I have had, he has been an amazing fit for my surgery. I never had a moments doubt that I was in the best hands for such an important surgery. The care that he and his team provided, couldn’t be matched. They were very responsive to my questions as well as forthcoming with the recovery ahead. I am about 10.5 weeks from hip replacement surgery, and I am doing much better than I anticipated. I’m getting back to the active lifestyle that I am used to. As long as you follow his post op instructions and listen to his advice, you will not be disappointed. I feel as if I have gotten my right hip back, finally pain free. I do need my left hip replaced and Dr. Boettner is without a doubt my top choice to do the surgery once again. His team should be applauded as well. Excellence all around!

Dr. Boettner is an exceptional surgeon and his office is efficient and attentive. I had my right hip replaced and after only one month I am back at work, driving and feeling good. He is very conscious of letting your body heal with minimal interference so my biggest problem was slowing myself down and not pushing myself too hard. HSS is the place to go if you need a joint replaced and Dr. Boettner is one of the best.

I have now had 2 hips replaced by Dr Boettner & he is excellent but was just told by his office that he is no longer accepting Medicare! I feel that is elitist & wrong because the majority of patients who need joint replacements are on fixed incomes! When I expressed this to his office staff I was told that the follow up visits would still be at a reduced rate of $200 to which I answered that is too much when your insurance co-pay was $15 & it just shows how much he is out of touch with & doesn't care about normal people to think that is an acceptable answer!!

9/24/24 Changed review to 5 stars because Dr B is an excellent surgeon but still upset that they no longer take Medicare. Not sure what I will do for future issues though because I will not pay $200/visit.

9/17/24 Since I am not able to reply to your reply, hopefully by updating my review you will see this. I too am sad about having to put a 1 star review but it is solely based on what transpired yesterday. If people can afford with private insurance that is not Medicare advantage then I'm happy to say Dr. Boettner is an excellent surgeon with yes no issues to speak of but if what you say is true regarding your overhead costs then, we Medicare patients are doomed & how does anyone else afford good care on a fixed income? Also, how do other good doctors make it work? I referred somebody to you yesterday who was turned away so I was embarrassed but also shocked to find out third hand that you no longer accept my insurance & that I am forced to pay $200 instead of a $15 copay if I want to continue my follow up care with you! I wish it was different & then I would adjust my rating accordingly or delete. I wanted to discuss with you yesterday & if I had been able to, frustration might not have provoked this review. I wish you the best.

Dr Boettner and his team are Extraordinary! My recent surgical experience with him and HSS was non eventful resulting in post op recovery which exceeded my goal of restoration of my hip and immediate relief of the pain I have been suffering for many years. Without hesitation I strongly recommend Dr Boettner and HSS.

I had bilateral simultaneous anterior hip replacements and could not be happier. My recovery has gone very well and I have no hip pain or limp. So glad he presented me with the option to do bilateral and to get it all over with at once. I never even knew that was an option.

Dr. Boettner is a very skilled Surgeon.
Dr. Boettner performed two complex total hip replacement surgeries within 7 weeks apart.

He was able to successfully correct my childhood chronic bilateral hip dysplasia,
Osteoarthritis, short leg and other issues resulting from the prior surgery.

Even though it's only 5 weeks after the 2nd surgery but range of motion within my joints is so much better. My both legs are the same length.

I know my recovery is slow but I know I'm on the right path.

Unbelievable work of Dr. Boettner. He is remarkable doctor.
I'm very pleased with the overall experience and thankful
Dr. Boettner for successful surgery and correcting my hips and leg.

He is a top notch doctor with “Miracle Hands”. His staff, PT were very helpful through out and the whole process and staying at HSS was nice experience.

Dr Boettner is an incredible surgeon!

I had a left hip with severe arthritic damage; it was bone on bone with cysts. After the resurfacing surgery, he told me it was a challenging surgery but it went well. It most definitely did!
I had a rapid recovery, took no pain killers, got full flexion back within a few weeks, and can now do everything I did before with zero pain. I highly recommend going to see him. He is a master of his art form. Thank you Dr Boettner!
